What is Stress?

Stress is a physical, mental, and emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension. The cause of stress can be linked almost anything in someone's life. External factors can be anything from physical environment, social situation, and psychological factors. Internal stress could be due to illness or having a medical procedure.Stress can have a significant effect on an adolescent's long-term physical and mental well-being. An understanding of the role of unmanaged stress during early adolescence is critical for the prevention of chronic diseases such as depression(Chandra & Batada, 2006).
